Works at Kingswood created a new station car park, improved station access, cycle parking, landscaping, associated communal amenity and play space, ‘kiss and ride’ and coach pick up and drop off areas.

We undertook the demolition of the old industrial site and regenerated the site ready for the new housing development. To allow for the new station car park to be constructed whilst allowing normal operation of the station, a temporary car park was installed, whilst in place the new station car park was constructed in several stages along with the soft landscaping.

There were additional works for this project which involved drainage surveys and installation of cycle pods.

This project was challenging as we had to re-incorporate a previous drainage design and re-design the drainage layout to ensure the proposed residential area does not flood in the occurrence of a 1 in 100 year flood event.  Working alongside our associate design company INVVU Construction Consultants Ltd, and with constant liaison with Thames Water and the local planning authority, a new fully tested and modelled design was put into place.

There was value engineering on this project in respect of the removal of marshals conservation kerbs from the design and replaced with a lightweight eco-friendly recycled kerb.  We also removed a station surround retaining wall and replaced it with a cheaper more aesthetically pleasing planter bank.

This was a Considerate Constructors project, receiving "Performance Beyond Compliance".
