Building Site Manager
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Site Manager to join our Southern Team (Kent, Sussex, Surrey). As Site Manager, you will oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is completed safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards.
• Assisting the Project Manager in the management of the site on a day to day basis.
• Responsibility for managing health, safety and environmental matters.
• Preparing and managing safety documentation WPP/TBRA etc.
• Controlling and issuing appropriate permits to work.
• Controlling and monitoring competencies on site.
• Maintaining the site diary, issuing works records, recording extra works etc.
• Preparing progress reports.
• Liaising with Project Quantity Surveyor on commercial matters.
• Managing labour, plant and materials on site in conjunction with the Foreman.
• Preparing timesheets, plant records etc.
• Managing sub-contractors effectively with emphasis on health, safety and quality.
• Liaising with client, designer, construction consultants etc.
• Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.
• Ability to undertake site measures when required.
• Work closely with operational teams.
• Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.
• Be able to think logically and laterally.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
Requirements
- • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• The ability to brief safety information to all site staff, read drawings effectively.
• An awareness of contract programme requirements.
• Can work clearly and accurately under pressure, to timescales, be reliable and self-motivated.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
Desirable –
Minimum 3 years construction experience. Level 6 NVQ Construction Management, CSCS Manager’s Card. SMSTS Qualified.
