Assistant QS - Woking, Surrey
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our teams in Suffolk and Surrey. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Commercial department with cost management for assigned projects.
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in preparation of interim and final accounts.
• Assist in the receipt of payments once interim accounts are certified.
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in managing day to day commercial and contract activities.
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract procurement ensuring best value.
• Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract valuations and final accounts.
• Learn the working practices of NEC 3 and JCT Conditions of Contract.
• Assist in gathering information for preparation of compensation events/variations (depending on form of contract).
• Assist in the production of EoT’s and L & E Claims.
• Prepare C47’s and C66’s (SC Payment Notices).
• Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.
• Ability to undertake site measures when required.
• Work closely with operational teams.
• Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.
• Be able to think logically and laterally.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
