About the Role

are you a Graduate looking for your first role or someone looking for a new position? Do you have a keen interest in commercial activities for construction projects with a willingness to learn and progress? If so, an opportunity has arisen for a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Commercial team.

This is a permanent, full-time position working on various contracts. You should ideally be located within the Kent area and willing travel.

Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor responsibilities include:

Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in preparation of interim and final accounts.

Assist in the receipt of payments once interim accounts are certified.

Assist in the production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.

Assist in managing day to day commercial and contract activities and sub-contract
procurement ensuring best value.

Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract valuations and final accounts.

Learn the working practices of NEC 4 and JCT Conditions of Contract.

Assist in gathering information for preparation of compensation events/variations
(depending on form of contract).

Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.

Ability to undertake site measures when required.

Work closely with operational teams.

Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.
