NRSWA Operative Units

Covers Units 001 – 006 & 009 [007 & 008 optional extras] for Operatives. This course provides experienced Operatives with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to excavate and reinstate the public highway in accordance with the New Roads & Street Works Legislation (NRSWA) All New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) courses that we offer are in line with The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. NRSWA Operatives Units 001-006 & 009 or 001 - 007 & 009 To provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to perform Operative duties to the standards prescribed by City & Guilds in line with the NRSWA Act 1991, in order to safeguard themselves and others A City & Guilds certificate is issued for each unit. In addition, various combinations of the units will lead to a full Street Works qualification for which an SWQR card will be awarded.

NRSWA Reassessments

Operatives and Supervisors who hold Street Works cards are now required to successfully complete reassessment of the units of competence that they hold in order to re-register with SWQR when their card expires. Each unit will be reassessed via open book. NRSWA Reassessment All units This 1 day course is designed for Operatives and Supervisors who have experience of working on highways and who already hold a SWQR card that is not yet out of date but needs renewing. Successful Operatives and Supervisors will be issued with a City & Guilds certificate and a SWQR card renewing the card for the units that have been re-assessed. NRSWA Signing, Lighting & Guarding Re-assessment Operatives and Supervisors This course is for Operatives and Supervisors who undertake the setting out of traffic lights, cones, signs and barriers and whose SWQR card is due to expire. Your current SWQR card must still be valid and must not have expired before the reassessment is taken On successful completion the candidates will be issued with a City & Guilds certificate and SWQR card

NRSWA Operatives Hot Lay Unit 007 To provide candidates with sound understanding NRSWA Unit 007, which is the reinstatement of Hot Lay Bituminous Material and to comply with the mandatory requirements of the New Roads and Street works Act 1991 On successful completion the candidates will be issued with a City & Guilds certificate Maximum of 8 delegates per course

NRSWA Supervisor Units

NRSWA Supervisors Units 001,010-014 & 016 To provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to perform Supervisor duties to the standards prescribed by City & Guilds in line with the NRSWA Act 1991, in order to safeguard themselves and others. A City & Guilds certificate is issued for each unit. In addition, various combinations of the units will lead to a full Street Works qualification for which an SWQR Card will be awarded. The course is 4 days for experienced candidates, and 5 days for novice candidates. Maximum amount of candidates for this course is 4 [with a ratio of Supers to Ops of 4:2]
