The works:
The works involved the installation of offsite highways works to facilitate a new Tesco store including, drainage, earthworks, landscaping, kerbs, footways, modular / concrete paved areas, installation of thermoplastic road marking and road studs, anti-skid surfacing along with base, binder and surface course installation which involved cold milling. The installation of new fencing, pedestrian guardrails, road signage, street lighting including LV connections and disconnections, street furniture, traffic/pedestrian management and traffic signal installation. We also had to manage the utilities plant for major diversion to minor diversion works.

Eaglestone Retaining Wall
Location: Milton Keynes
Description: Retaining Wall Repair Works
The works:
The works involved excavation of trial pits to establish form and geometry of foundations and trial holes to verify the position of Statutory Authorities plant. We had to demolish the end garages at both eastern and western ends of the site. We broke out hard material on line of steel sheets piles and excavated the pile trench. Installed sheet piles backfilling behind and reinstated the sheet pile installation trench. We constructed the capping beam and installed the pedestrian parapet. The linear drainage channel and finishings were then reinstated. Topsoil and planting was carried out and the garages were then reconstructed replacing those that were demolished.

William Harvey Hospital – New Access Road
Location: Ashford, Kent
Description: New Access Road
The works:
The site comprised of open agricultural land to the north of the main parking facility serving the hospital and the project was to provide a new access road to facilitate the development of the area with additional medical services, together with alterations to the existing car parking facility and the provision of new infrastructure. This was a conventional construction using tarmacadam materials, consisting of ground investigations, site clearance, earthworks, drainage, carriageway works with an stone mastic asphalt surface finish, road signs and markings, miscellaneous fencing and statutory undertakers works. Engineers House, Woolwich
Location: Woolwich
Description: Car Park Works
The works:
The works were to extend the existing car park using Grass Crete Blocks and then we extended the existing retaining wall. Once the wall was finished we installed a key clamp fence to the top of the wall. We also fitted a knee rail fence to the perimeter of the extended car park.
We installed an automatic raise and low entry / exit barrier.
The works also involved some minor landscaping works to the area.

The works involved alterations to the existing entrance to St Nicholas Church, including the removal of existing steps and pavement with earthworks to form a new access ramp. The duration of 10 weeks included the construction time of 4 weeks and off site lead in time of 6 weeks.

Angel Hill

Description: Crash Barrier Replacement Works
The works:
The works involved the installation of a temporary lane closure on Sutton Common road and a traffic diversion route. The existing single box beam barrier was removed and replaced with a new crash barrier system in accordance with up to date regulations. Due to restrictions the new barrier had to be installed on the same alignment as the existing barrier and therefore a 450mm clearance could not be achieved. The new barrier posts were installed with concrete surrounds.

The works:
The works involved the removal of existing retaining walls damaged by subsidence – these walls were made up of unreinforced brick bedded in cement mortar on a mass concrete strip foundation. We then constructed a new retaining wall consisting of in-situ reinforced concrete foundation, blockwork wall with brick work fascia and metal work balustrade.

The works involved the construction of a new Heli-strip to enable low gradient take off and landing at the Air Support Unit and associated building works. The works included civil engineering work to provide the levelled heli-strip surface. Folkestone West Station

The works:
The works involved installation of new fencing between car park and platforms, construction of new walkways from the platform to the coach waiting areas.
Construction of a new car park (incorporating the new marshall priors paving system) for South Eastern Railway Passengers and also a staff parking area.
The works also included new surface water drainage, construction of new Coach parking bays defined by raised islands.
Disabled parking area in accordance with DDA requirements, concrete kerbing to demarcate the car parking limits, tarmac works for surface finishing to car park.
Road markings to designate car parking, disabled areas and coach parking, installation of new lighting and power supplies.
Provision of new CCTV cameras and construction of concrete foundations for the location of bagged rubbish.

Waltham Cross Piazza

The works:
The works involved the removal and disposal of the existing paving and street furniture. The Installation of a complete new storm drainage system. We had to regulate the formation to achieve the new paving levels. We installed new Marshall York Stone paving and Tumble Setts, jointed with Easypoint mortar. New stainless steel street furniture along with relocating existing vehicle barrier’s were also installed. All the above works were undertaken without affecting the access to the shops and business within the area of works.
