Stamford Hill Embankment

The works involved the stabilisation of an existing embankment – the worksite was 270m long, truncated at the southern boundary by St Ann’s Road Underbridge and to the north by the Tottenham & Hampstead line rail Underbridge. The embankment is up to 5m high and consists of re-worked London clay which needed to be stabilised. The works included for the removal of the existing embankment vegetation and topsoil. Approximately 534 Ishbeck 40/20 soil nails were installed up to a maximum length of 14m over the area of the embankment. The embankment was then dressed with rabbit/badger netting. A new cess path was constructed and supported by a piled retaining wall which consisted of Groudamat piles up to a depth of 4.0m at approximately 1.2m spacings along the length of the cess.

Coldharbour Depot

The works involved the complete refurbishment of the existing offices and mess facilities, including a single storey extension to the main office and full mechanical and electrical installation. External works included new drainage and works to the car parking area to increase number of parking spaces.

Warren Lane, Ashford

The works involved widening the carriageway at Warren Lane for improved access to new development at the BUPA Care Home. We formed a new bellmouth entrance to the home and laid the foul water rising main within the public highway.

Works to create additional parking bays at several locations including all associated works.

Stamford Hill – Seven Sisters

Embankment stabilisation works including footway construction and associated works.

Seymour Leisure Centre – Changing Rooms

A complete re-fit of the male and female changing rooms and corridors incorporating 15 areas that included shower and toilet facilities. The works also included a comprehensive refurbishment of a squash court.

Southampton Parkway

Provision of new covered walkways, cycle and trolley storage and new cycle path and associated works at Southampton Airport Parkway station.

Knowles Viaduct

Brickwork repairs including vegetation removal throughout the structure including re-mortaring open joints and fractures, patch and isolated brick replacement. Repairs were also carried out to fractures in the parapets.

Oldborough School

Section 278 highway improvements for school development at Boughton Lane including revised signal controlled junction at Sutton Road. The works also involved footway improvements/drainage works and pedestrian measures.

Manor Royal A23 Crawley Phase 2

Section 278 work s including the installation of new traffic signals and carriageway reconstruction and re-alignment works.

Gerrards Cross Railway Station

During green zone protection (T3 and T2H), we carried out pressure washing works to the platform canopy. We also carried out preparation and painting works to all previously decorated surfaces of the canopy including supporting structure, fascias, gable panels and roof soffit.

Cleaning was carried out to both sides of canopy glazing. Cleaning of all rainwater goods including valley gutter and ensure free flowing was also undertaken.

We replaced both external down pipes located within the 6 ft Canopy.

Lippitts Hill Heli Pad

The works involved the construction of a new Heli-strip to enable low gradient take off and landing at the Air Support Unit and associated building works. The works included civil engineering work to provide the levelled heli-strip surface. The installation of associated ground drainage and the installation of manually operated aeronautical ground lighting and associated equipment. We also carried out reinstatement works to the paddock structures and boundary fence lines and various other building works.

Bracknell Station

Winstanley Estate Phase 4

Thorpe Le Soken

The works were to the underside of bridge soffit – 4000 psi pressure washed with munro spinning head. Mechanical preparation to corrosion sores. Painting to Network Rail specification M24. 800 m2.

Roadside parapet – fully encapsulated scaffold. Wet grit blasted to remove lead coated paint. Removed hazardous waste. Dry blasted to standard SA 2.5. painting to Network rail specification M20. 250 m2.

Trackside handrails and girders – 4000 psi pressure washed with munro spinning head. Mechanical preparation to corrosion sores. Painting to Network Rail specification M24. 350 m2.

Preston Park Station

Laindon High Road

The works included for the removal of the existing road surfacing, footpaths etc… We excavated to bridge deck level to expose existing waterproofing layer. Supplied and laid new Wolfrin waterproof membrane to bridge deck. We reinstated the carriageway to Local Authority specification including for new footpaths and deterrent paving. All works carried out on half road closures.

Seven Sisters Road

Trackside – 4000 psi pressure wash with munro spinning head to parapet and deck. Power disc corrosion sores. Applied paint to Network Rail specification XM92 (M24). Surface area 970 m2.

Roadside parapet – fully encapsulated scaffold. 1500 psi pressure wash to remove salts and contaminants. Wet grit blast to remove lead coated paint. Cleared and removed hazardous waste. Dry grit blast to standard SA 2.5. applied paint to Network rail specification XM92(M21). Surface area 540 m2.

Roadside soffit and cross girders – 4000 psi pressure wash with munro spinning head. Power disc corrosion sores. Applied paint to Network Rail specification XM92 (M24). Surface area 1300 m2. Works were carried out during night time lane closures.

All works completed on time and in budget.

Greenhithe Station

The works involved refurbishment to the Down and Up Platforms. For the Down Platform the works included the clearing of vegetation, renovation of existing building, removal of the canopy, installation of new palisade fencing, reduction in the height of the wall around subway, the laying of new edgings, resurfacing of the platform.

The works for the Up Platform included the installation of acoustic fencing and new palisade fencing. We also laid new edgings and installed new tactile behind copers, resurfaced the platform and refurbished the Annex Building.

Spexhalls Rail Bridge

Clapham Junction

The works involved the provision of structural supports to the front face of the platform beneath the existing coping stone so that the existing coping stone can be set forward to reduce the stepping distances. Some coper heights had to be lowered. We also installed the tactile paving stones along the platform and excavated and resurfaced the platform.

Seymour Leisure Centre

Seymour Leisure Centre is a grade II listed building. The works were carried out within a live busy leisure centre in London W1; we carried out structural demolition including the temporary structural support works in order to create a 14m high, 15m by 6m internal space within the building. We then installed extensive structural steel works that included a hanging gallery and a five flight set of stairs with stainless steel and glass balustrades. To complete the works we have built a 13.5m high climbing wall within this space and two other climbing walls in other areas, all fully air conditioned with the equipment being craned in.

This was a high profile Blue Flag project for Westminster City Council and had to be carried out to a congested road locked building.

Seacroft Cottage

The works involved minor alteration to the alignment of the junction with Church Street, the introduction of a flat-topped road hump, the reconstruction of the amenity area fronting the shops including laying high quality paving, drainage to a maximum depth of 1.2m and road lighting.
