The project will be primarily constructed in a blockade over the Christmas and New Year period with the team being lead by our Rail Director Philip Webb, Contracts Manager Danny Marshall, Senior Site Agent Andrew Cheeseman and Site Agent Andrew New.

Works are to commence on the 24th October 2011 and due for completion in the next thirty four weeks.

The work included structural alterations, new ticket windows and counters together with a new DDA ticket window, new ceilings, new flooring, new WC, tea point and re-decoration throughout.

We installed new ticket office windows, removed the central brick column and the two existing ticket windows, we installed one new ticket window and new counters, decoration and wall tiling to the booking hall side.

Lastly we installed a new curtain walling and refurbished the tenancy area including associated electrical works and the full strip out of the existing curtain walling, floor coverings and suspended ceiling, the new installation included new curtain walling, suspended ceiling, electrical works, vinyl flooring and decoration.

• The project involved installation of new hoop top fencing and new sliding gates.  The relocation of various obstructions and the making good of platform surfaces.

• The works comprised of all temporary / preparatory and permanent works in connection with the raising of platforms at Platforms 1 and 4.

• Recovering works to flat roofs; replacement of timber decking; replacement of two number oil boilers to include converting to gas.  Replacement of timber fascia boards and refurbishment of tiled roof and rooflights at various schools in East Sussex.

• The works comprised of the making good of dilapidations, repair works and redecoration works to station platforms, buildings and car parks.

• The works comprised of the refurbishment of the existing male and female toilets including disabled toilets.  We also refurbished the existing waiting rooms at each station.

Wandsworth Fire Station

• Yard reconstruction works – this involved civil works comprising the replacement of the fire station rear drill yard hard-standing with a new reinforced concrete pavement.

• External works including two new vehicular internal roads into the property for visitors and deliveries.  New highway crossovers and formal garden path works.  The project also involved new lighting, services ducts for gas, electricity and water.  Drainage works and new boundary wall and fencing.

• The works involved the construction of a new vehicle access off Cromer Road and into the Fire Station including tactile crossing.

• The works involved the reconstruction of the bridge including the replacement of the failing bridge deck and brick parapets it supports.

• The works comprised of the construction of a new staff mess room within the existing office, construction of a new ticket office within the existing staff mess room including new ticket windows and cabinets.

• Annexe building alterations and refurbishment works including the strip out and demolition of certain partitions.  Installation of new partitions.  Internal refurbishment including new surface finishes and sanitary ware etc…  Minor structural alterations, associated repairs and external works.

• Platforms 9 and 10 – Platform extension works.  The extension was constructed on a 350mm concrete raft foundation and the riser wall had a 9″ front wall constructed to match existing along with all associated works.

• Platform extensions to platforms 1 and 2 consisting of extending the platforms by 41m and 45m respectively.  The works included the demolition of the existing ramp and new concrete foundations, crosswalls and blockwork.

• The works comprised of the provision of a new access road to facilitate the development of the area together with alterations to the existing car parking facility and the provision of new infrastructure.

• The works involved the design and construction of a series of piled foundations to support vertical screen structure around the Stratford Gyratory.

• The works involved the creation of accessible toilets at Blackheath, Broadstairs, Herne Bay and Welling Stations.  The works also included the installation of non slip nosings at Welling Station, removal of chair lifts and installation of handrails to staircases at Swanley and installation of semi automatic door openers at Broadstairs and Herne Bay.

• The works involved station enhancements at Netley, New Malden, Pokedown, Worplesdon, Woolston, Andover, Christchurch, Eastleigh, Portsmouth and Southsea & West Byfleet Stations.  These works included demolition, alteration and remodelling of the station buildings with associated internal walls and finishes.
