Harley Shute Footbridge
Location: East Sussex
Description: Footbridge Repair, Strengthening and Painting Works
The works:
The works comprised of the erection of side hoardings and gates. We provided and maintained traffic management measures for the duration of the works. We obtained the design and technical approval for suitable access scaffolding arrangements. We had to dismantle and remove the existing GRP parapet panels. Then install are replacement system of parapet panels and to complete the project we carried out maintenance painting of the footbridge.

West Hampstead Footbridge
Location: West Hampstead Station
Description: Installation of footbridge
The works:
The contract works included for 14 metres to 20 metres deep concrete CFA piles, installed to each platform, so as to form the link bridge foundations. The works also involved the complete management of the link bridge installation.
The new footbridge is a unique design which is currently the largest sized footbridge installed within the Southern section.
The sections of the bridge consisted of complete stair sections, complete lift shaft sections and complete link span sections. Due to the size of sections a 1000 tonne crane was utilised to lift the sections into position. Two number all line block possessions were required to completely install the footbridge.

Thorpe Le Soken

Description: Painting Works
The works:
The works were to the underside of bridge soffit – 4000 psi pressure washed with munro spinning head. Mechanical preparation to corrosion sores. Painting to Network Rail specification M24. 800 m2.
Roadside parapet – fully encapsulated scaffold. Wet grit blasted to remove lead coated paint. Removed hazardous waste. Dry blasted to standard SA 2.5. painting to Network rail specification M20. 250 m2.
Trackside handrails and girders – 4000 psi pressure washed with munro spinning head. Mechanical preparation to corrosion sores. Painting to Network Rail specification M24. 350 m2.

Laindon High Road

Description: Bridge Deck Refurbishment
The works:
The works included for the removal of the existing road surfacing, footpaths etc… We excavated to bridge deck level to expose existing waterproofing layer. Supplied and laid new Wolfrin waterproof membrane to bridge deck. We reinstated the carriageway to Local Authority specification including for new footpaths and deterrent paving. All works carried out on half road closures.

Seven Sisters Road

Description: Painting Works
The works:
Trackside – 4000 psi pressure wash with munro spinning head to parapet and deck. Power disc corrosion sores. Applied paint to Network Rail specification XM92 (M24). Surface area 970 m2.
Roadside parapet – fully encapsulated scaffold. 1500 psi pressure wash to remove salts and contaminants. Wet grit blast to remove lead coated paint. Cleared and removed hazardous waste. Dry grit blast to standard SA 2.5. applied paint to Network rail specification XM92(M21). Surface area 540 m2.
Roadside soffit and cross girders – 4000 psi pressure wash with munro spinning head. Power disc corrosion sores. Applied paint to Network Rail specification XM92 (M24). Surface area 1300 m2. Works were carried out during night time lane closures.
All works completed on time and in budget.

Ely Underbridge

Description: Culvert Works
The works:
To construct two insitu concrete constructed box culverts, with front abutments, to the East & West banks to house a new steel constructed bridge to carry rail freight over the River Great Ouse. Also included in these works was loose laid Wolfin waterproofing membrane to the overbridge section, bridgeguard concrete protection system sprayed to all external surfaces and site fencing re-instated to match existing.

Orpington Station

Description: New Pedestrian Footbridge
The works:
Fabrication and installation of a new steelwork pedestrian footbridge, lift shafts and stair access to existing island platforms. Installation of new lift cars and lift machine rooms and all associated lift services. Installation of piled foundations and reinforced pile caps, pits and slabs. Existing services protection and diversions and installation of new services including power supply cables, lighting and drainage, signage on step free route. Installation of tactile paving at platform edges and to the top and bottom of proposed stairs.

Cramner Bridge
Location: Cramner Road Overbridge, East London
Description: Bridge Painting Works
The works:
The bridge is a steel structure spanning across Cramner Road in East London in a residential area to a local school.
The works were undertaken during a full road closure implemented by Walker Construction. An encapsulated structure was erected to the soffit and parapets of the structure to enclose all exposed areas of steelwork. The encapsulation included for insulation within the side walls to reduce the noise of the works. The structure was shotblasted to SA2.5 and a M20 paint system was applied to all exposed steel areas. The works were undertaken during January through to March 2005. Despite the weather conditions during the Winter months the works were finished to programme and to the specified standard. Contingency plans were made within the original programme for weather related delays as well as mitigating bad weather with regards to steel, temperatures, humidity etc.

Bryants Bridge
Location: Bryants Bridge, Kent
Description: Bridge reconstruction
The works:
The demolition and reconstruction of the main span of a three span arch bridge.
The main span was replaced with a precast concrete beam and an insitu concrete deck over, complete with waterproofing new P2 parapets, reconstruction of approach roads, drainage, safety barrier and landscaping works.
